Released in 2011, the limited-edition Air Jordan 1 Retro “Year of the Rabbit” pays tribute to the Chinese New Year, the Year of the Rabbit. The updated design draws inspiration from the 1992 OG Jordan “Hare.” Like its predecessor, these Retros boast a light silver leather upper with perforations on the midfoot, and white leather overlays throughout with contrasting True Red details on the tongue and padded midsole. To elevate the design, accents of metallic gold are featured on the heel loop, Jumpman logo and shoelaces. Air Jordan branding is visible on the tongue and the emblazoned gold “23” on the back heel. The back of the tongue also has a gold badge with Jordan and Chinese New Year references. The shoes come in a special red Chinese New Year-themed box.
