Bvlgari was founded in 1884 by Sotirio Bulgari, who opened a jewelry store on Via Sistina in Rome. In the aftermath of World War II, he succeeded in creating an original style that set the brand apart from the French style which was the mainstream of the jewelry world at the time, drawing inspiration from the Italian Renaissance and Roman Classicism. In the 1970s, the company opened its first overseas store in New York and expanded to other locations around the world, including Paris, Geneva and Monte Carlo. In 1977, the iconic Bulgari Bulgari watch was born. This has earned a reputation all over the world and has been praised as an immutable classic style. Since the introduction of the BVLGARI-BVLGARI watch, there have been several different variations on it released to the public. The initial one was in yellow gold with a tan leather strap. Bulgari then created a steel version of it with different colored leather straps. It was available with a mechanical or quartz movement, with or without a date display window and in different sizes to suit male and female customers. They made versions with white gold, platinum, stone or diamond-encrusted dials, metal bracelets and chronograph functions.
