Vetta was founded in the 1930s as a shortened name for the brand previously known as Wyler Vetta. Founder Paul Wyler’s most significant innovation was the creation of the Incaflex balance wheel in 1927 for shock resistance. As a showcase of durability and resistance in their watches, in the 1950s, Wyler showed a timepiece being thrown from the top of the Eiffel Tower and landing unaffected.
