As a prestigious commission from the Italian navy in 1942, the Flightdeck was designed as a wristwatch for its pilots that could satisfy precise technical specifications. Its first drawings were made by Ilvo Fontana, showcasing a robust wristwatch with a strong character that could guarantee maximum visibility and water tightness. In 2000, Italo Fontana, Ilvo?s grandson, discovered the precious designs. They became his source of inspiration for the creation of the U-BOAT watch, along with his motto: A New Dimension in Time. In few years, U-BOAT opened a number of single-brand boutiques and multiple shops all over the world.
