Lucie Gledhill uses recycled precious metals for chain making. Whilst chain is what she creates, she also engages with themes including connectivity, strength, flexibility and material relationships. Lucie?s relationship with her materials has enabled her to predict what they will do and how they will behave. She likes to push the material to its limits as it pushes her to her own. Lucie deliberately uses a low-tech approach to making ? alloying gold, pouring ingots, drawing wire, which she uses for jewelry collections as well as sculptural objects. This piece is part of Eizelluxe’s London Craft Week.
