Pre-owned Omega Speedmaster Professional Missions Apollo 14 ref 3597.17.00 (1997 – 1998) was developed to pay tribute to the 1971 Apollo 14 mission, featuring the mission patch on the sub-dial at 9 o’clock. Omega produced many mission-dedicated Speedys during the 1990s. However, we don’t see this model often, which many believe was only sold in quantities of 150. It’s also significant because Apollo 14 astronaut Alan Shepard wore a Speedmaster 145.012 during the third lunar landing. This 1990s model has all the features many passionate collectors are searching for in a traditional Moon Watch, including a hand-wound movement, black tachymeter bezel, and stainless steel finish. At the same time, it also sports a tougher scratch-resistant sapphire crystal. We envy anyone lucky enough to add this prized collector’s item to their watch box.
