The Nike SoleFly x Jordan 1 Retro High “Art Basel” saw an exclusive release in 2018 and was designed in collaboration with South Florida sneaker boutique SoleFly. Coinciding with the Art Basel Miami Beach show, the pair debuted in a surprise launch that was ultimately shut down by the police due to safety concerns. The pair sports a Miami-inspired colorway, with a white leather upper, dark green overlays and Swoosh, and bright orange accents on the toe box, collar flap and outsole. Additionally, SoleFly branding is embossed on the lateral heel. MIA and 305 are featured behind the tongue.
The Nike Air Jordan 1 is one of the most iconic designs in the history of both streetwear and basketball and is a key part of the origin of the Air Jordan brand for Nike. Designed by Peter Moore, the Air Jordan 1s were worn by Michael Jordan in 1984 and 1985, as well as modified versions in 1986 (after a broken foot Michael endured).
