In the early 1940s, Breitling provided aviation instruments with precision, reliability and logic. Its HUIT Aviation department supplied the British Royal Air Force among many others. Willy Breitling intuitively recognized that people have a desire for products that radiate elegance and glamour. In 1943, Breitling launched its premier collection with the versatility and sportiness that distinguishes all Breitlings, such as the iconic Navitimer and SuperOcean which were released a decade later.
